Begin your day early by departing your hotel around 4:00 AM to reach Tiger Hill, located about 11 km from Darjeeling town. This iconic viewpoint, at an altitude of 2,590 meters (8,500 feet), is famous for offering a breathtaking view of the sunrise over the Eastern Himalayas. On clear days, you can witness the snow-capped peaks of Kanchenjunga lighting up in hues of gold and pink.
Tiger Hill has been a popular tourist destination since the British era, attracting visitors from across the world for its panoramic Himalayan views. The spot gained prominence in the early 20th century as a must-visit sunrise point in Darjeeling and continues to be a highlight of the region.
On way back to hotel visit Ghoom Monastery as it is a very famous and one of the oldest Monastery of Darjeeling and Batasia Loop as it features a unique spiral railway track, stunning mountain views, and a war memorial honoring Gorkha soldiers.

After breakfast, you set off for a scenic excursion to Mirik, a quaint hill station near the Indo-Nepal border. The route itself is a treat, starting with a drive through Lepchajagat, a tranquil pine forest village that offers misty landscapes and an untouched charm, ideal for nature lovers. As you continue, you pause at Simana View Point, a stunning vintage spot that lies right on the India-Nepal border, offering magnificent views of the surrounding valleys and distant Himalayan peaks.
Further along, make a stop at Pashupati Market, a lively marketplace near the border where you can explore a variety of local handicrafts, souvenirs, and unique items from both India and Nepal, making it a great spot for shopping. Afterward, visit Gopal Dhara Tea Garden, known for producing some of Darjeeling’s finest teas. The well-manicured tea estates provide excellent photo opportunities amidst the serene natural surroundings.
Eventually, you arrive at Mirik Lake (Sumendu Lake), where you can enjoy a peaceful walk along the lakeside, take a paddle boat ride, or simply relax by the charming arch footbridge that spans the lake. Surrounded by tall trees and gentle hills, Mirik offers a perfect, tranquil end to your memorable journey.
After breakfast, check out and drive back to NJP / IXB / Siliguri (approx. 71 km / 2–3 hours) for your onward journey by train or flight.
